Johnny Topper played our tune ‘Felonious’ from Portmanteaux’s ‘Between the Lines’ CD on his Triple RRR radio show ‘New and Groovy’ https://www.rrr.org.au/program/new-and-groovy/ on Wednesday, 25th April 2018 (2-4pm). For more information on “Between the Lines” and where you can listen, download or buy our music check out the dedicated page.

Another Story is a side project of two members of Portmanteaux – Steve and Henry.

Paddy Harrisson who hosts the show Ports of Paradise on PBS 106.7 will be playing the tune ‘Count Me Out’ by Another Story on his 2-hour show tomorrow Friday, 2 March 2018 – 9:00am to 11:00am.

Ports of Paradise presents a midcentury melting pot of sophisticated sounds from the golden age of exotica … including jungle jazz, tribal percussion, Latin rhythms, early Calypso, cocktail lounge, stereophonic showpieces, space-age symphonies, and tropical island swing.

Count Me Out is from the CD Cinematic Sea by Another Story. It is a jazzy, quirky tune Count Me Out written in 5/4 time that was a failed entry into a short film music competition. There are not too many popular tunes written in 5/4, e.g., Dave Brubeck’s Take Five, Living in the Past by Jethro Tull and the original Mission Impossible theme by Lalo Schifrin. For more information on Another Story and where you can listen, download or buy our music check out the Another Story Sounds Page.

There are many interesting and different shifts in the tune – backwards guitar, musique concrete and then at the very end a swinging 1960s London groove a la Austin Powers meets Georgie Fame.
