Sam Booker is a Latin-sounding tune from the new 5-track EP CD ‘Nothing Too Deep’ by Portmanteaux who are based in Melbourne, Australia. This tune was written by keyboardist Steve Malkin and features Hammond organ and a theremin-sounding solo from Steve in the outro section of this track. Sounds a bit like Booker T & The MGs. The core band is supplemented on this track by the great percussionist Salvador Persico.

At last after lockdowns and the pandemic, Portmanteaux have finally completed their new 5-track EP CD entitled ‘Nothing Too Deep’.

Tracks are: Pickpocket, Sam Booker, Nothing Too Deep, Drummer’s Rap and Florentine Moon.

Here is a video of the humorous tune ‘Drummer’s Rap’ , which was written and voiced by the drummer Mick Frawley about the plight of the forgotten band member – the one up the back!
